Episode 10: Pachinko, The English, Home for Christmas
PACHINKO, ( South Korea ) portrays the lives of three generations of Koreans, who, starting in 1910, were forced to live under Japanese occupation. Anchored by a gentle but feisty matriarch, the series chronicles her life, the life of her son, a gambling arcade owner, and his son, a high-powered New York City businessman.
THE ENGLISH ( UK) is set in 1890s American West. An English noblewoman sets out to avenge the death of her son. Her initial encounter with a determined Pawnee scout turns into a bond that unites them and disrupts the cruel landscape in which both of them find themselves.
HOME FOR CHRISTMAS ( Norway ) is a quirky, feel-good romantic comedy/family drama. A 30-something nurse must, for the umpteenth time, face her large family's Christmas dinner without a boyfriend. In the days leading up to the feast she embarks on a mission to find true love with totally unpredictable results.
