WAR SAILOR-(Norway-Netflix) This dramatic war movie examines the lives of two merchant marines who must serve on supply ships during WW 11. One leaves behind a wife and children while his buddy is a charming bachelor, but each are bonded by a deep friendship.  Throughout capture and being shipwrecked the two help each other to survive not knowing the biggest test will come after the war is over.

 


THE DIPLOMAT ( England,-Netflix) is a dark political comedy/romance. Kate is a no- nonsense career diplomat married to wheeler-dealer diplomat, Hal. When Kate is posted as ambassador to England, Hal reluctantly takes back seat and accompanies her. Suddenly the world is brought to the brink when a British ship is attacked. Kate’s skill is going to save the day but she reluctantly needs her unscrupulous husband to help. They love each other. They hate each other. But the world needs them to save it from a potential major confrontation.


In OCCUPIED,( Norway- Netflix) the Norwegian prime minister announces that Norway will no longer be producing fossil fuels. This may be ecologically correct, but Russia and the EU unite in their displeasure and soon the Russians have quietly strong armed Norway to not only produce fuel but to insure they do, the Russians occupy key parts of Norway. And then they stay. How this “soft” invasion affects the lives of everyday Norwegians who must decide whether to resist or acquiesce is the core of the story.
